beribboned bliss

My handiwork sewing ribbons on my daughter's ballet slippers resembles naught these nifty pretties from Jean Paul Gaultier. But oh my. The vertiginous heels are ever-so evocative of a ballerina en-pointe. Such an exquisite homage.

  1. Those are rather nice though for some reason I can't get into shoes that have ribbons or laces up the leg- it's just sort of stripper-ish to me. I don't know why I have this aversion.

  2. Oh, I'm the same - these are for looking at only. My legs are nowhere near long or spindly enough to have ribbons all over them... I'm just feeling all soppy that my daughter's going back to classical ballet, after a year of jazz only.

And I had no idea about strippers and laces - I thought they did lucite?

  3. They do both. Because, you know, more is better, at least in that industry.
