flowers for friday

Excuse me, but how fabulous are these lil pretties? They're called Bells of Ireland and they were on the counter at III Bean the other day, making me gasp with joy.

I like unexpected beauty - and green flowers are the ultimate in unexpected don't you think? Normally flowers are about colour: pink, red, orange, yellow, white, purple... Green? Not so much. So green carnations, these pretties, green tulips or pale pink and green roses make my heart sing.

Happy friday lovelies - got anything fabulous planned for tonight and the weekend?

  1. Bells of Ireland are perfect for this weekend. It being St. Patrick's Day on Sunday.....we're having a family focus, with food included....steak,kidney & guinness pie with colcannon & beef & guinness casserole with mash...mmm I can feel the calories moving to my hips, but with chasing children & dancing through the streets of Sydney celebrating our Irish heritage & paying homage to my great Irishman, my darling dad, I think I'll work it off!
    Have a great weekend.

  2. I love green flowers.

We're hoping to get out of town today to a little oasis town in the mountains, but we have a little girl with a fever so we're holding tight for the moment. Have a wonderful weekend. x

  5. The flowers are gorgeous. I have to find out if they can be grown here in Florida. We are going to many yard sales tomorrow in search of furniture to be redone and then celebrating St. Patrick's Day on Sunday.
