She's been very brave the poor little thing - don't you just wish you could take their pain for them? Luckily {if there is such a thing} it's occurred right at the end of summer after she'd got in a full swimming season, and, hopefully she'll only need a cast for around four weeks and will be able to start the netball season virtually on time.
Somehow it doesn't seem like a childhood without a broken bone does it?
Oh, your poor girl. Wishing her a speedy recovery. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Kellyansapansa x
ReplyDeleteOh, poor little thing! I only ever broke a thumb when I was a kid, that was painful enough. At least the cast will win 'toughness' points! :)
ReplyDeletePoor little lass! Hope she is on the mend in no time and soaks up all the glory that can come with a cast. And poor you PPMJ - 'tis a hard thing when your baby is down and out!
ReplyDeletePoor little girl. Does she get to choose what colour her cast is?
ReplyDeleteI have seen all sorts of colours, much more interesting and lighter than the ones around when I was young. Not that I ever broke a bone as a child.
How are you recovering from the trauma?
Poor thing, but she will love the kids writing messages on her cast. Kids are so resiliant that they amaze me. My son managed to break both his wrists at different times and just seemed to keep going. .
ReplyDeleteEeeeek! I hope she continues to be resiliant, poor thing!
ReplyDeletePPMJ, it's all character building. And just think about all the artwork that can be had on a plaster cast? You could even offer to hang it on her wall afterwards?!
ReplyDeleteAw, poor little thing!! Yes, I guess her childhood is now complete, you can scratch "broken bone" off the list!
ReplyDeleteHope she's on the mend soon!!
ohhh, hugs to your sweetie, hope she is coping well.

Girls, thank you so much for your lovely thoughts. She is a total celebrity today and I'm sure she will be even more so when she has the real cast set on Wednesday. The good news is that she needs lots of mumma cuddles - bless!
ReplyDeleteHope yor lovely girl is better very soon. xx
ReplyDeleteAw, the poor thing! There is nothing worse! (well, maybe there is, but I haven't experienced it yet!) I broke my arm when I was 10 and the cast was soooo itchy! I stole so many of Mum's knitting needles to stick down it and scratch with! I hope her arm heals up quick and she's not in too much pain.
