lavender love
Lavender is a shade I positively adore - it's one of those happy, soothing hues that makes everything seem a little better. With all the redesigning, redecorating and renovating {in our future} that's going on in our home, I'm trying to work out where I can squish some lavender in. My study perhaps? Or the bathroom - like this? Mostly white, a touch of black, chrome and accents of lavender... Yep, I think that'll do just nicely.

That looks really pretty and I like the idea of adding accents of black / chrome. I must admit, though, that I've had an aversion to lavender ever since those boofy lavender taffeta numbers were big at school formals in the eighties. But the lavender plant itself is one of my absolute favourites.
ReplyDeleteI can understand any aversion - boofy, taffeta any-colour is enough to turn you off for life. Our bathroom's mostly white as we're keeping the current subway tiles - and just adding a strip of black at the top - possibly some black and white floor tiles? Who knows?
ReplyDeleteI love lavender, that bathroom is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Not a big fan of lavender - unless it's on the plant. Then I LOVE it. Maybe it's an outside colour for me.
ReplyDeleteWe painted the walls in our living room in Bronte in the prettiest shade of lavender - it was a Porter's paint colour, so was a bit limewashed and made me feel I was in the south of france, rather than the east of sydney. I guess I'm harkening back to that colour and feeling - but I do agree that lavender can seem nana-esque or 80s if not done properly.
ReplyDeleteSounds fantastic, and I love that bathroom in the pic! Make sure you post lots of pics when you do it!
ReplyDeleteOoo, that's such a pretty andf girly bathroom!
ReplyDeleteMy childhood home bathroom was a very seventies lavendar. I just can't stomach it anymore! This one does look rather more beautiful, but still, I can't take it!
