flowers for friday

Can't you just breathe in the prettiness with these gorgeous white fleurs and pretty palest of pale blue bottles? This image just about sums up serenity - which I could do with a spot of about now... I'm feeling a little blue, my English in-laws are flying back home tomorrow after a fabulous month. Last night there were tears from my gal who asked "Why can't they live closer?" Makes me want to save harder and get back over there again sooner...

On the bright side, we did have a wonderful month with them. Caught up many times, shared giggles and great conversation. The girls all adore each other, little Miss R was permanently attached to my gal at the family farewell last night, so that's something to be thankful for.

They mightn't be in our neighbourhood, but they're in our hearts, that's what matters isn't it?

  1. It is definitely what matters. Hard for your gal to know that right now, but you can bet she will always have a loving relationship with her family. x

    1. She's already planning her gap-year over there (starting high school this year and already planning ahead - bless)

  2. So much easier nowadays, with FB, skype, email. I grew up with about 20 of my cousins living in Ireland & England. We used to write, etc. and visit when we could afford to, but now, they are just a click of the mouse away. We share the highs & lows of one another's lives. Your girleen will always have the connections she has made & can keep those connections alive through the wonders of technology! It is soooo hard to say goodbye though.

  3. Thanks for your comment on my blog earlier - funny we both wrote about in-laws on the same day! I'm from the UK so know how hard it is when people come to visit and then leave again, especially when kids are involved. Hope you can get back there soon. x

  4. Gorgeous flowers and yes, those bottles are certainly perfect! So hard to see loved ones have to go back home, especially when their home is so far away. did you try to manipulate them into moving over here? That's what I'd be doing;)

  5. Oh they're lovely and they look a little like Jonquils. If they are, then their scent would be as magic as their beauty :o) xo
