Hubby and I went here for a date. Cute huh? How much do you love this wall of awesome? Must admit, I had most of these albums as a youngster...
Hubby ate this sandwich of awesome.
I ate this: hotdog of awesome.
See that? That's exquisite caramelised onion and feta.
I know!
Chips in wee spotty melamine latte cups? Oh, if you insist. Where is it?
Frankie's Place, Darby Street, Cooks Hill.
Awesome.
My favourite cafe in Newcastle (other than Swell at Merewether!). I have taken hubby, all the kids (at different times), met friends, or I just go on my own with a notebook and my laptop! Happy with croissant and coffee or the french toast and bacon is f.a.b.u.l.o.u.s.
ReplyDeleteFrench toast and bacon? Hello! That shall be my next option. I was just intrigued by hotdog as I haven't had one in about 20-odd years - and boy, they did it well!
DeleteNewcastle eh? (Is that where you live?) Trust it to be in NSW when I live in Melbourne. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteThose fries look oh so good!
xx
Yep, Newy's the home of some pretty awesome places (but I do love Melbourne too!)
DeleteMmmm, I don't just mean the food! I had a date with my hubby last weekend. So lovely, need to make the time to do more often. We always seem to be going with groups now. Not enough hours in the week. X
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, that's why we've been sneaking out for the odd lunchtime date. So nice to catch up one-on-one.
DeleteThat does all look pretty awesome PPMJ! That sandwich looks mouthwatering. Lucky you and hubster getting to go there for lunch together xo
ReplyDeleteI know! Fabbo non?
DeleteVery awesome!
ReplyDeleteIndeed x
DeleteLove Frankie's! Great Food, Great Service & always something great to look at and/or listen to. An old school friend of mine sometimes plays acoustic there....love a "hubby date" too! MIL is taking kidlets for a few hours on Saturday, she says "You two need to do something together"...we work together, live together...but it's true, we need to have some one-on-one, no work time!
