our daily bread
This here's the bread we kneaded in the KitchenAid and baked in a rather snazzy tupperware silicone loaf tin. It was uber-delicious and, as you can see, one young chef was rather chuffed at the results. I found the recipe on the KitchenAid site, they promised a crusty white loaf and we received a crusty white loaf. Straight out of the oven with a smear of butter it was delicious. Toasted for breakfast this morning and topped with butter and black cherry jam it was also delicious. Remind me to do this again sometime {not in the least because it called for 2 and a half tablespoons of milk powder - which only comes in one kilo bags. Any recipes calling for milk powder or shall I just do a Cleopatra. Hmmmmm?}

that does look yum, and normally bread machine recipes call for milk powder & that's all I use the milk powder for aswell.

p.s not happy with survivor last night :(
A-ha, now I know about the whole milk powder situation.
ReplyDeleteSo utterly beside myself about Survivor that I can barely bring myself to speak. I do now have a sneaking admiration for Russell though - he is an evil genius!
Wow! How good does that bread look! Can you believe I have a brand new bread maker sitting in the cupboard - never been used!! About time I got it out. Inspired by your results :)
ReplyDeleteI know! My first-ever real bread baking {I've made foccacia and soda bread and flat bread - but not normal bread!} So yummy - go on, get out the breadmaker!
ReplyDelete..nope, no admiration there, hope he gets further just so we can watch him & his 'quest for world domination' but then get thrown out just before the final few.
ReplyDeleteI have a bread machine but rarely use it. Oven-baked is just sooo much better. I think you should bathe in the milk powder and report back on how icky it truly is! :-)
ReplyDeleteHave not been watching Survivor this time around - though I do wonder if Russell learned his lesson last time around. He'll be stuck with the $100K again if he hasn't.
My breadmaker comes with all these cool bread recipes...chocolate bread, garlic bread, pumpkin bread etc etc etc. Soo good.
ReplyDeleteYum Clarissa, those sound amazing.
ReplyDeleteAnd Cathie, you're right. I'm just trying to deal with the fact that Rob's gone. Sob.
Oh I completely missed survivor!
ReplyDeleteThat bread looks sooooo good, and I'm not allowed to eat white bread - this post is KILLING me!!!
I reckon bathe in the milk...and report back.
I'm thinking milk powder and rose oil Ally - will let you know!
ReplyDeleteLove home baked bread - yum.
ReplyDeleteThat looks Yum! Sadly I am just way too lazy to bake my own bread.
ReplyDeleteHow adorable is your girl?! Just look at those peaches n' cream cheeks. Awwwww.
P.S. There are awards & tags for you at my place!
Yum! Looks delicious :) . I have that Tupperware loaf thingy, must use it soon now I have seen the finished product from it :)
